Rosie Napanangka Holmes was born in Ali Curung, back when it was still known as Warrabri. She grew up in Ali Curung and attended the local school. She temporarily relocated to Murray Downs, where she started her painting career. In 1982, she and her family settled back in her birthplace. Growing up, Rosie watched her mother and grandmother paint. They taught her about country through painting and collecting bush tucker on traditional land.
Rosie paints about the hill country and sand hills of her Mother's country, Antarranginyi, west of Ampilatawaja. Her landscapes and abstracts capture bush medicine, desert flowers and the harvesting of bush tucker.
Rosieanne is an emerging artists with work acquired by the Batchelor Institute's collection.
